The best guards that function both as a teeth retainer keeping teeth from moving/shifting and protecting teeth from teeth grinding/clenching is either the 1mm or 2mm hard acrylic custom dental guards. Below are links to these two guards. Anything thicker than 2mm would be not as comfortable when wearing on both your upper and lower teeth.
