With a gag reflex, you can remove the impression tray off of the teeth within the first 30 seconds just as long as you push straight up over the teeth and then straight down off the teeth to make sure you do not smear the impression while the teeth impression is still setting up. Yes, you can place the impression putty just in the area of the tray where your teeth will be.
